Mokopane – Limpopo traffic law enforcement officers in Waterberg District have
arrested two drivers who were found to be travelling way above the permitted speed
limit on the N1 freeway, on Friday, 08 December 2023.
- N1 Ysterberg Mokopane: Mercedes Benz sedan for 178km/h on a 120 zone.
- N1 Roodekuil Bela-Bela: Mercedes Benz sedan for 175 km/h on a 120 zone.
Provincial Traffic Chief Director, Jane Mulaudzi has sent a strong warning to
reckless drivers. “We have declared zero tolerance of fatal traffic violations such
as speeding and drunken driving. It is now a matter of complying or going to jail.
We will not stand idle while irresponsible motorists endanger others on the road.
We urge all road users to obey the rules of the road, for all to have safe journeys”,
said Mulaudzi.
