Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilani has this evening, Saturday 02 March 2024 attended the Driver of the Year Competition Price Giving Ceremony, held at Park Inn, Polokwane under Capricorn District.
The Driver of the Year Competition is an initiative to encourage Drivers to adhere to road safety, at all times. The Competition is also used to educate the public about road safety, and the implications of non-adherence.
MEC Radzilani has used the opportunity to encourage drivers to continue being vigilant during their travels within the Province, considering that we are approaching the Easter Long weekend and confident that there will be less fatalities.
In Conclusion, MEC Radzilani raised a concern on drivers who do not take regular rest during their travel and alluded that “the Department have chosen (Fatigue is a silent Killer) as a theme to our competition for this year, because we have witnessed how lack of rest has contributed to most of the road fatalities.
